Rancho La Jarrilla has been breeding pure blooded Lusitano horses since 1952. All our stallions and mares are graded and registered in the Portuguese Stud Book.

Our stallion, Zimbro, is in the Book of Merit, one of only 3 horses in the Book of Merit in the Portuguese Stud Book.

Our horses have the courage and ability to perform in the bull ring and have provided the mounts for Gaston Santos and many famous bullfighters throughout the world.

The horses of Rancho La Jarrilla have demonstrated excellence in dressage.
Our stallion, Cofre, was champion at the Feria Internacional del Campo in Madrid.
At the VI Portuguese Championships in Lisbon, Eneas was champion and is the only American-born horse to ever be champion.
Zimbro has a son who was a champion in Portugal and Zimbro's uncle, Novilheiro, was a European jumping champion.

Rancho La Jarrilla was also the home of the famous horse, Rayo de Plata, from the movies!
